BLK MGC Content LLC is a production company and development incubator dedicated to championing new black and brown voices in film/television. By focusing on the intersectionality of the story and the storyteller, we craft and execute curated plans for our creators to go from short film/proof of concept to feature or pilot.
Our Call
BLK MGC Content began in the Summer of 2020 when our Principal, Duran Jones, was a Fellow at The American Film Institute Conservatory. Jones identified that many of the Black and Brown voices he encountered as a Fellow, did not have the means or knowledge to promote themselves or their content to garner recognition from the industry. By identifying content artists can use to position themselves in the marketplace, BLK MGC Content has successfully helped collaborators develop, find funding, execute production, showcase, distribute, and reach buyers for their IP.
Our feature film and pilot projects have been involved in the Sundance Lab, PGA Power of Diversity Workshop, pitched to various major studios, and landed development with Spike Lee and Netflix. Our short film/proof of concepts have also won the Grand Prix at the Oscar Qualifying Hollyshorts Film Festival and have been officially selected for the Sundance Film Festival, RiverRun Film Festival, American Black Film Festival, Palms Spring International Film Festival, Toronto Black Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, and BronzeLens Film Festival.
We source talent from the country's top film schools and film festivals. It is not important to us where talent is from; it is important to us where they are going.
